Passing through a pleasant section of elven forest with a path between giant trees underlaid by deer-grazed grass and some small rocky outcropping the party are ambushed by a group of elves who have climbed into the surrounding trees. The ambush "platforms" provided by the major limbs where they branch from the trunk are around 30 feet up, and it isn't simple to get up to them - plus they provide good cover. The elves have ropes rigged up so that they can descend quickly if they need to reach the ground in a hurry.
