Leonidasa58's Style Guide
Description
Howdy fellow mapmakers,

I am a map ‘nerd’, gamer, and a user of DungeonFog since its early days. One of my nerdiest qualities is my desire or perhaps obsession for uniformity in mapping styles, both within a single map and across a series of related maps.

This was aggravated by the vast quantity and high quality of the textures and props available to DungeonFog (and soon to be Deios) users. When creating a new map, I can spend more time selecting the various graphic elements to include than actually drawing the map. To aid me in my efforts I have created ‘collections’ of my commonly used props and maps with my favorite textures.

I have also been working on standardizing my map elements and textures to show materials used. I also use variations in the lightness/darkness of stage textures to simulate contour (i.e. elevations) on outdoor maps. One of my pet peeves of most RPG maps is their two dimensional nature.

“A style guide is a set of editing and formatting standards for use by students, researchers, journalists, and other writers. Also known as style manuals, stylebooks, and documentation guides, style guides are essential reference works for writers seeking publication, especially those who need to document their sources in footnotes, endnotes, parenthetical citations, and/or bibliographies.”

I would love to other map makers publish their ‘Style Guides’. As all of us have our own unique style.
